At a security conference across the pond today, major companies signed a "Charter of Trust" for cybersecurity, and they are looking for more organizations to join their efforts.
The heart of the issue is exactly what we heard from UMass CISO Larry Wilson last month at SecureWorld Charlotte: "Cybersecurity is a key enabler of digital transformation."
The major companies signing the charter include T-Mobile, IBM, and Siemens, among others. And here is the paragraph that captures the spirit of the charter:
"Hedging the all-encompassing impact of digitalization and cybersecurity and creating a holistic basis of trust can’t be achieved by a single company or entity; it must be the result of close collaborations on all levels. In this charter, the signing partners outline the key principles we consider essential for establishing a new charter of trust between society, politics, business partners, and customers."
Read the Charter of Trust overview to see details on each of these points.
Perhaps your organization will want to sign on to the new cybersecurity charter. Says Siemens President and CEO Joe Kaeser, "We hope more partners will join us to further strengthen our initiative."
