The hits keep on coming for cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab, which is in the process of being removed from all U.S. federal government computer systems.
Now the European Parliament passed a cybersecurity resolution that calls for a ban on Kaspersky products in Europe's government, as well, despite Kaspersky's plans to open an EU transparency center.
"... to perform a comprehensive review of software, IT and communications equipment and infrastructure used in the institutions in order to exclude potentially dangerous programmes and devices, and to ban the ones that have been confirmed as malicious, such as Kaspersky Lab."
Company founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky took to Twitter to defend his company and fight back against the "confirmed malicious" part of the statement.
Kaspersky also posted that he's still waiting for evidence from the U.S. government on its ban, although a court has already upheld that decision.
The company says it is freezing its involvement in European causes, including the No More Ransom project.
