Remember the time a hacker set off tornado sirens in Dallas, Texas?
This latest emergency notification system hacking was quieter but still unsettling.
Australia's Early Warning Network (EWN) got hacked, and the hacker sent out this "emergency message" at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
The Early Warning Network alerted users on its Facebook page that it had indeed been hacked, and by the start of the work week it clarified that compromised credentials were behind the cyber attack:
The EWN says it identified the attack as it was happening and was able to shut off the system to limit the number of users receiving the hacker alerts.
