If you are one of the 49,000 cybersecurity fans following him on Twitter, you already know that hacker strategist J. Wolfgang Goerlich never wastes his commute.

Instead, he uses the drive time to create videos for his information security focused YouTube vlog (video blog), called "Stuck in Traffic."

We interviewed the nationally-known cybersecurity speaker and YouTuber at the SecureWorld Detroit cybersecurity conference.

He explains why 2019 trends to watch include cryptomining in the cloud,  cybercriminal pyramid schemes, and the need for infosec professionals to develop "street smarts."

Plus, how did his "Stuck in Traffic" vlog channel get started? Watch the interview video for all of these things:

Our team especially liked Goerlich's view on collaboration in the cybersecurity industry:

"If we don’t communicate... the bad guys are and they’re very efficient at it because they are heavily monetized to do so. So if we don’t communicate, they will—and we’ll lose. I believe it’s incumbent on everyone who does cybersecurity to take their knowledge and share it in their local channels. ”

We could not agree more.

Join the communicating, networking, and development in 2019 at one of SecureWorld's 17 regional cybersecurity conferences happening across North America.

Together, we can make the continent more secure, one region at a time.
